India defeat Australia by seven wickets in the fifth ODI to win the series 4-1. India reached the target of 243 in the 43rd over thanks to Rohit Sharma's 14th ODI hundred and Ajinkya Rahane's half century. Earlier, Australia had posted a modest 242-9 against India in the fifth and final ODI of the five-match series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium. David Warner (53) was the top-scorer, while Travis Head (42) and Marcus Stoinis (46) also made useful contributions.

Though, the match had no bearing on the result of the series, the win means that India have once again taken the top spot in the ICC ODI rankings.
