India's under-17 football team is ready for their first encounter of the upcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup. 

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has posted a message on his Twitter handle wishing the Indian team all the best for the upcoming games. 

“Our boys are taking part in the FIFA U-17 World Cup which starts on October 6,” said Kohli in the video, “Their first match is against Team USA. I would like to wish them all the very best for the first game and the rest of the tournament. Go get it boys, make us proud.”

Kohli was in his football attire, wearing his football hat and the jersey of Indian Super League side FC Goa, which he co-owns. 

He is known to be ardent follower of football and has stated numerous times that Real Madrid and Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo is an inspiration to him.

The Indian football team thanked Virat for his gesture and tweeted, "Thank you @imVkohli for your support. Boys are leaving no stone unturned to make it count in #FIFAU17WC #BackTheBlue"     

India will be taking part in any FIFA World Cup event for the fist time. Also it is the first ever FIFA tournament to be held in India. 

India’s group matches will be held in New Delhi’s JLN stadium. The tournament starts on October 6 and ends on October 28 with the final being hosted at Kolkata’s Salt Lake stadium. The other venues for the tournament are Navi Mumbai, Margao in Goa, Guwahati and Kochi.
