This has been a clinical performance from India. This is there biggest win ever against Pakistan in ODI cricket - by eight wickets and with 126 balls to spare.

After struggling to get over the line against Hong Kong yesterday, India have been ruthless today. And with that, Rohit Sharma and Co have cruised into the Super Fours of the 2018 Asia Cup.

    INDIA WIN BY 8 WICKETS

Rayudu finishes the contest by pulling a short ball from Malik.

India finish with 164/2 from 29 overs in reply to Pakistan's 162 all-out.

Rayudu remains not out on 31, with DK remaining unbeaten on the same score.

Once again Shoaib drifts onto DK's pads, once again he's swept away for four.

India need just four more runs to win now.

Aggression from Rayudu. Dances down the track against Zaman and plays a superb lofted drive over covers for four.

Both Indian batsmen are doing well here. It almost seems as if they are trying to outdo each other, considering the middle-order spots that are up for grabs.

    IND - 154/2 after 28 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 10:57 PM

Sarfraz Ahmed brings Shoaib Malik into the attack.

Fine shot from Karthik! Malik drifts into his pad and DK plays a deft sweep past short-fine for four.

Just a few runs more needed by India. 14, to be precise.

DK survives! Goes for a front-foot push through covers but loses control and the ball loops over the in-field.

India are easing towards victory, though. Only a miracle can save Pakistan from here.

    IND - 132/2 after 23 overs.

    Classy shot from Ambati Rayudu!

Waited for the ball to come and cut it late for a boundary past point.

Both him and Dinesh Karthik are in no hurry at the moment, playing smart cricket.

    IND - 129/2 after 21 overs.

    SIX!

Fakhar Zaman joins the attack, wearing a cap backwards. He drops it short and Karthik pulls it for a maximum. Poor bowling from the left-arm spinner. The Pakistani team looks like it has resigned to its fate.

    IND - 114/2 after 18 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 10:18 PM

    OUT

Shikhar Dhawan missed out on a half century. He hits Faheem Ashraf straight to point. It was bowled outside off and he cuts it but straight to Babar Azam. He goes for 46.

    IND- 104/2 after 16.3 overs

  • 19 Sep 2018, 10:16 PM

Oh! More bad news for Pakistan

Shadab has hurt his back in the follow through and has to walk off. It's pity as Shadab has looked well in the 9 balls he has bowled so far.

Fakhar Zaman completes the over as India reach 100.

    IND- 100/1 after 16 overs

It is looking easy for India despite losing captain Rohit Sharma's wicket. Pakistan pacers have not troubled the batsmen so far.

Shikhar Dhawan has managed another bondary in the over. He is nearing his half century.

    IND- 98/1 after 15 overs

    Rohit Sharm's Wicket

Pakistan introduced spin in the 14th over and it got them a wicket off the first ball.

Rohit Sharma was beaten by the googly. He leaned forward to the length and stuck his bat out but left a big gap between bat and pad and the ball went right through to hit middle and leg.
Rohit looks back in almost disbelief.

    FIFTY for Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma bring up his half century with SIX and FOUR in the 13th over. He got to his fifty off just 36 balls.

    FOUR

Shikhar Dhawan plays a beautiful flick off the pads. The run rate has climbed over six. RRR is under 2.50.

    IND - 73/0 after 12 overs

  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:53 PM

    SIX

Shikhar Dhawan pulls the short ball. It wasn't from the middle of the bat but still managed to clear the fielder for the maximum.

The run rate is exactly run-a-ball right now.

    IND - 66/0 after 11 overs

  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:43 PM

    Shot!

Dhawan joins the act! Faheem Ashraf angles it away from the left-hander but gets cut beautifully for four.

This is turning out to be a completely one-sided contest.

Rohit and Dhawan are well and truly set.

    IND - 58/0 after 10 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:38 PM

    Rohit Sharma is on fire!

That was an outrageous shot to welcome Hasan Ali into the attack. A short-arm pull/flick that went for a one-bounce four.

Indian fans could be in for a treat here.

    IND - 52/0 after 9 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:34 PM

    SIX!

India get their first maximum of the innings and it comes from Rohit's bat.

Usman comes from around the wicket and bangs it in, Rohit pulls it hard and the top-edge sails over the ropes.

    Four!

Usman bangs it in again and this time Rohit pulls it with control to the square-leg fence. And it was a no ball to make it worse for Pak. Strange tactics from Pak, they have a short-fine and are bowling bouncers from around the wicket.

    SIX!

Rohit makes the most of the free-hit. And what a stunning shot that was. Classic Rohit. Stood still and pulled in front of the wicket. The ball went into the top tier of the stadium. Wow!

    IND - 46/0 after 8 overs.

Some words exchanged between Rohit and Amir, but both players had smiles on their faces.

    What. A. Shot.

Amir bowls it short and wide, Rohit plays a blazing square-cut for four. The third-man fielder had just five meters to move but the ball raced past him.

    Another boundary!

This time Rohit leans in and plays the most sumptuous cover-drive for four.

The Indian captain at his very best!

    IND - 27/0 after 7 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:19 PM

Rohit survives! He attempts a leg-glance but the ball takes a leading edge and goes just past point.

The Indian captain hasn't looked comfortable till now. He needs to dig in the way Dhawan is.

    IND - 17/0 after 6 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:13 PM

No Amir bowls a maiden to Dhawan. The Pakistan bowlers are offering no width to the left-hander.

But it's quite clear that the Indians have decided to see-out Pakistan's new ball.

    IND - 15/0 after 5 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:09 PM

Fine over from Usman. Bowls five dot balls to Dhawan and concedes a single off the last after the outside edge runs away to third man.

India will have no issue taking their time. Not a lot to chase here.

    IND - 15/0 after 4 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:05 PM

    Stunning shot from Dhawan!

Amir pitches it full outside off, the left-hander leans in and drives the ball through covers for a boundary.

Amir comes back with a beaut to Rohit. The ball moves away after pitching and just misses the outside edge.

    IND - 14/0 after 3 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 09:01 PM

India get their first boundary. But a streaky one.

Usman Khan gets Rohit's inside edge and the ball runs away to the fine-leg fence. Loose shot from Rohit, just hung his bat out cluelessly.

Another poor shot from Rohit. Chase a wide delivery and the ball just about misses the edge. The Indian captain is looking tentative.

    IND - 7/0 after 2 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 08:55 PM

Amir brings the ball back into Rohit consistently but no harm done. Both Rohit and Dhawan manage to get off the mark.

    IND - 2/0 after 1 over.

Right, we're ready for the chase.

India's Rohit Sharma will face the first ball. He has Shikhar Dhawan for company at the other end.

Mohammad Amir will bowl the first ball for Pakistan.

This is going to be fun!

This has been a comprehensive performance from the Indians.

They weren't at their best yesterday, but have been clinical so far in this all-important match.

It should be a comfortable chase, but funnier things have happened in cricket.

    PAKISTAN ALL OUT FOR 162

Bumrah bowls an unplayable yorker to clean-up Usman Khan.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:56 PM

    OUT!

India break the partnership. Bumrah brought back into the attack and he strikes immediately.

Ashraf goes for a nothing shot. He was nowhere close to the ball and manage to flick it into the air. Dhawan gets under it and takes a comfortable catch.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:49 PM

Bhuvneshwar Kumar comes back into the attack.

Bowls five dot balls and concedes a leg-bye off the last delivery.

    PAK 158/7 after 41 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:49 PM

    Pakistan get lucky. Really lucky.

Amir gets yorked by Kuldeep. The ball takes a thin edge as Amir slams his bat to the floor. The edge goes between the stumps and Dhoni's leg and Pakistan get four runs.

India must look to wrap up the tail as soon as possible. These late runs could prove to be the difference at the end.

    PAK - 157/7 after 40 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:43 PM

Amir survives! The left-hander goes for a slog-six against Chahal, the ball takes a top-edge and goes high up. Dhawan comes running from deep mid-wicket but the ball falls just short.

Much-needed boundary for Pakistan! Ashraf connects well, drives it over covers for a one-bounce four.

    PAK - 148/7 after 38 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:38 PM

Ridiculous umpiring. Chahal called for a no ball when his foot was well inside the popping crease. The batsman then gets caught after slogging the free hit. The third umpire must be allowed to step in and reverse such errors on the field.

Chahal drops a catch! Ashraf hits it straight back and the leggie dives but can't hold on to the ball for a return catch.

    PAK - 138/7 after 36 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:21 PM

    OUT!

    Kedar Jadhav strikes yet again!

Shadab goes for a drive over mid-off, he misses the ball and his back leg drags out. Dhoni whips off the bails in a flash. Kedar gets his third.

    PAK - 121/7 after 33 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:16 PM

Shadab Khan and Faheem Ashraf are at the crease for Pakistan. Unlike many of the previous batsmen, these two seem to be content in keeping the ball grounded.

There are still plenty of overs to go, Pak can still get somewhere near respectability.

India go for DRS on the last ball of that Bumrah over. Rohit only took it after getting the nod from Dhoni. The ball struck Ashraf in line but replays showed that the ball would've missed the stumps. Review wasted by India.

    PAK - 119/6 after 32 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:05 PM

    OUT!

And another one bites the dust!

Asif goes for a wild cut, the ball takes a faint edge and Dhoni takes a good catch. Kedar Jadhav has his second wicket.

What is Pakistan doing here?! This is hara-kiri!

    PAK - 110/6 after 28.1 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 07:03 PM

    SIX!

Asif goes big! Gets down on one knee and sends a Kuldeep delivery into the stands. Strange approach, this. Pakistan need a partnership desperately.

    PAK - 110/5 after 28.1 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:59 PM

    OUT!

Shoaib Malik is run-out! What was he doing there?! Tried to sneak a single but didn't even stretch as he got inside the popping crease. Ambati Rayudu's direct hit caught him off-guard. But this was really poor cricket from the experienced Malik. Asif Ali played the ball towards point and immediately put his bat up to say no for the single. Malik ran blindly, then turned and jogged back without stretching as he pushed his bat forward. He walks back for 43. Pakistan are in deep trouble here.

    PAK - 100/5 after 27 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:54 PM

    OUT!

Kedar Jadhav gets a huge wicket for India! Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed is walking back.

Actually, the wicket belongs to Manish Pandey. Sarfraz went for a maximum but was caught by Pandey on the mid-wicket fence.

It was an absolutely brilliant catch. He got control of the ball, tossed it up, was forced to run out of play, then run back in and pouch the ball again. What skill!

Horrendous cricket from the Pak skipper, though. He had no business playing such a stroke at this time.

    PAK - 96/4 after 25 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:48 PM

    DROPPED

Shoaib Malik, 1 has been  dropped at deep midwicket. Bhuvneshwar over-ran the ball and misjudged it completely. The ball landed right behind him.

    Pakistan: 91/3 after 24.3 overs

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:38 PM

    OUT

Kuldeep Yadav has broken the stand. He bowls a wrong 'un and gets through the defences of Babar Azam. It hits the top of the off stump.

    Pakistan: 85/3 after 21.2 overs

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:35 PM

Pakistan have recovered well here after losing two early wickets.

Babar Azam (43) and Shoaib Malik (35) have put on 77 for the third wicket. They have had luck on their side but they have also batted with good mix of caution and application.

They have kept score ticking with singles and a few boundaries.

    Pakistan: 80/2 after 20 overs

    BAD NEWS FOR INDIA

Hardik Pandya went down on the ground while bowling. It seems a back issue but there is no confirmation yet. It is big blow for India- they are now a bowler down. If Hardik can't return to bat it will be double blow.

    Pakistan 73/2 after 18 overs

  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:11 PM

    What has happened here?!

Major bad news for India as Hardik Pandya is being stretchered off. This doesn't look good at all. He's hardly moving. He fell on the floor as soon as he bowled the last ball of his over. it looks like a back problem but we'll get details soon. This is a major blow for India. Hope Hardik gets well and it isn't a career-threatening injury.

End of 17th over just 7 runs off it. Azam and Malik are looking good here.

    Pakistan 67/2 after 17 overs

  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:09 PM

    Catch dropped!

Pandya gets Azam's outside edge, Dhoni dives but can't hold on.

He had to put in a dive but it wasn't very difficult. Dhoni should've taken that catch.

Azam is a quality batsman. Will India have to pay heavily for this mistake?

    PAK - 60/2 after 16 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 06:03 PM

This is slowly turning into a good fightback from Pakistan.

Both Azam and Malik are getting the boundaries away as well as looking solid in defense

Yet another over ends with a boundary.

Azam guides a wide ball from Pandya to the third man fence.

    PAK - 55/2 after 15 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 05:58 PM

Kuldeep Yadav brought into the attack by Rohit Sharma.

    SIX!

Malik goes big! The experienced right-hander dances down the track and sends it deep into the stands behind mid-wicket.

Pakistan are making it clear that they're going to take the attack to the chinaman bowler.

    PAK - 49/2 after 13 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 05:53 PM

Back to back overs that end with boundaries!

Babar Azam is looking good here.

Hardik sends a ball into the pads with no pace whatsoever, the right-hander flicks it stylishly past mid-wicket for four.

    PAK - 39/2 after 12 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 05:46 PM

Spin introduced early here. Yuzvendra Chahal comes in to have a bowl.

Not much turn early on, as was expected on such a flat wicket.

    Four!

Chahal drops the last ball short and Babar punches it through covers.

    PAK - 32/2 after 11 overs.

    FacebookTwitterWhatsappLinkedin
  • 19 Sep 2018, 05:46 PM

Hardik Pandya joins the attack. Good start from the all-rounder, not giving any room for the batsmen to free their arms.

Two runs came from that over.

    PAK - 25/2 after 10 overs.

  • 19 Sep 2018, 05:37 PM

This has been a cracking start for India in this all-important clash.

Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman were both in form, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar has roared back to form today.

Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik are at the crease for Pakistan now. Both right-handers have hit a couple of glorious boundaries. But they'll have to bat long if Pakistan are to get back into the contest.

    PAK - 23/2 after 9 overs.
