England were not expected to dominate the Ashes series, but neither were they expected to surrender so easily. Australia, having already won the first two test, looked set to wrap up the series in Perth. England's only hope of survival was rain.

In one of the memorable moments of the day, England batsman James Vince was bowled by Australian pacer Mitchell Starc. The delivery, since then named the ‘ball of the summer’, pitched in the middle and uprooted his off stump after doing bit too much. It was one of those unplayable balls. Until that point, Vince was batting well and had notched up a fine half-century. The wicket dented England’s chances of surviving the final day’s play.

However, it was Vince's response to the dismissal that didn't go down well with cricket pundit Harsha Bhogle.

Vince, reflecting on his dismissal, said, “If I faced that another 20 or 30 times, I think that would get me out every time.”

Bhogle was quick to point out that such a statement showed the problem with English cricket. He questioned whether someone like Steve Smith or Virat Kohli would say such a thing.

Bhogle was obviously referring to the 'lack of belief and fire' in the England cricket team.

After some people pointed out to him that Vince was just admitting what a great ball it was, Bhogle said that there was no problem with admitting it to be a great delivery, but saying that he would get out to it every time is the problem.

"Not about admitting it was a great ball. But I am bewildered that he should say he would get out to it again and again. Even if he actually felt so," he said.

Bhogle seems to have a point here. While Vince may be saying what he actually felt, in modern day cricket showing your wounds is not considered 'brave'. England have failed to fight fire with fire this series and admitting you have no clue about your opponent's attack is not healthy.

England have come under a lot of criticism for lacking enough aggression to match Australia on this tour. England have been hit by drinking scandals involving Ben Stokes and Jonny Bairstow before and during the tour. However, the biggest problem seems to be 'a lack of belief.'
