The government has decided to block
savitabhabhi.com, an animated porn site. With million other porn sites easily accessible, is poor Savita getting a raw deal?
Readers' comments:
Why doesn't the government ban the real, shameless bhabhis openly roaming in backless cholis & transparent blouses? At least these real shameless bhabhis' entry near schools and colleges should be banned.

Please someone tell our corrupt and lazy politicians that there are lots of very serious problems in our country that need attention first.

I don't know if banning savitabhabhi is right, but what I want to know is why savitabhabhi became the first to catch the eye of the IT ministry. Maybe people in our IT ministry also surf and download porn content. And they suddenly saw savitabhabhi where an Indian woman is tearing Indian culture apart.
There are many other things going on in the industry that need quick action. Indian ISPs boast of international standards and charge hefty amounts for their services. But the fact is that we don't get even a quarter of the service of international standards while we pay 3-4 times more than in other countries.
Broadband and EGPRS services were launched in India long ago, but till date no one has received the true speed of these technologies. People still believe they are getting the most reliable service because they are paying more and find every other week that the server is down if they have subscribed to an Unlimited plan. Isn't that cheating the customer?
The other thing that needs quick attention is that private companies are using filtering software that enables them to view private emails of their staff.
Please also take a look at honeymoon hotels, which not only make CDs and DVDs of couples but also telecast them live on the internet. What are our ministry and police doing to stop these things?

Rather than having a blanket ban, why not introduce a mechanism for selectively preventing only under-age access? Adults in this country should be treated with some respect. They should be left free to make their own choices.

Nothing on the internet can be restricted. Go ahead and block it all... Technology is now across the boundaries of controls.

This is disgusting. By banning just one site, the government has not done good for society. In fact, this was one of the few Indian porn sites and that too in the form of a cartoon.
What has the government done to other porn sites, especially those from Western countries? Why aren't they banned too?
Let us forget about this. I would like to bring a simple fact to notice: why is the Indian film industry allowed to show nudity in movies? Why are they not censored when they contain explicit content, which is the basis of creating interest in children for these things?
Savita Bhabhi's website should be restarted or else other sites should also be banned.

The comic was very good and interesting to read and the action pictures of bhabhi were cute. If the site is blocked we hungry men will curse them.
