My heart has been heavy all day. For a man who brought millions of people across the globe closer with his music to be known as Wacko Jacko must have been terrible.

The 80s for me are Michael Jackson -- The King of Pop. Bad, Billie Jean, Thriller, Dangerous.

I hate using cliches, but like him or not, you sure as hell couldn't ignore him.

Primarily though, I take offence to him being referred to as a paedophile here. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? For someone who was acquitted twice, it seems rather unfair to have to be referred to as a paedophile in the website of a reputable media organisation.

MJ was not a convicted paedophile, he was cleared. So why are you presenting claims as fact? In the interests of fair and accurate journalism, I suggest you carefully check how you phrase your debates. I recently read that journalism standards are slipping in India... evidently.

This is too shocking a news to fathom! He has always been a legend and larger than life. When we were in school and saw his Bad videos and saw him sweep the awards! All his songs were stylish and classy, yet trendy and catchy -- such as Smooth Criminal, Beat It, You Gonna Be Starting... I used to make it a point to buy his original cassettes after saving my pocket money!

Michael Jackson was one of the greatest musicians the world has ever seen. And along with a lot of people, you all seem to have already decided that he is a child molester. What do we need courts for, if journalists themselves disregard the ethics and moral codes of journalism and start passing judgement themselves? Whatever happened to objectivity and fair play to both sides without letting personal perspectives influence you?

"A black man who badly wanted to be white." Are you serious? Why does this read like fact? MJ had vitiligo and has never said he wanted to be white. This is all rumour and fiction and has never been verified. I thought journalists were supposed to careful about every word they print and keep their own biases out of reports. Trial by the media? (Refer to the Shiney case.) It seems the worlds of fact and fiction are the same to some journalists.

I'm a avid reader of DNA and enjoy it thoroughly. However, while I was at work this morning, thirsty for news about MJ, as was the rest of the world, I found that the DNA website did not even have the story. I quickly flipped to see HT where there was full coverage and pics. I hate to leave DNA, but you make it quite easy.

Michael Jackson suffered from vitiligo, which made his skin sensitive to sunlight. Further, it has been said that the treatment he used made him appear paler. Secondly, all the changes to his face were, in fact, due to weight loss. Your allegation of 'a black man desperate to be white' is an insult to his memory.

You will live forever, Michael.

While most media outlets are remembering Michael as a legendary singer, why are you focusing on his low points? You don't need to attract viewers with such negative comments. They will read the story anyway. It's MICHAEL JACKSON.

While other websites and TV channels are focusing on the positives of Michael Jackson, the fine people at DNA seem to have already decided to tar brush and feather him. I guess the DNA journalists have decided you may as well hang MJ as a sheep as a lamb.

Rock on, MJ!

He was a true legend/icon. We throw the word around too flippantly now. He really gave meaning to the phrases. MJ, you will be missed. I blame the media for tearing him down mercilessly, shred by shred. Hopefully they will "leave you alone" now.

All I can say is that no more little children will be sexually assaulted. The ones that have will hopefully be able to forget it now.

DNA says: Who was the real Jacko -- the King of Pop or a troubled paedophile?

Are you people mad? The court cleared him. Perhaps we should hang you for crimes you didn't commit.

Michael Jackson was a legend even with all his flaws, which were just constantly magnified by the media. The first music CD I got as a gift was Michael Jackson's History CD and will always remain a very, very fond memory. He was the one true king of pop and had such a distinct sound to his music and no one could dance like him. He truly was a king in every sense of the word.

By the way, you can ask whether he was the king of pop or a troubled star. Why is the paedophilia factor being highlighted when he was not found guilty of the crime. Give the man a break at least when he's dead.

Michael was a true artist with god-given talent. He could visualize a dream and make it appear before us. He was brilliant. He was different from the rest of the world (his greatest asset).

I kind of agree with your writeup. Along with the glorification comes the good news and the terrible ones! Maybe he was not a paedophile but he was definitely a freak to dangle his child out of a window in Berlin.

How about that? People should learn to accept the pros and the cons. Everybody has a shade of grey, right?

Until a few months back, both the media and people were in a frenzied state to hear any scandal or news about him. What happened to that? Just because he's dead, must you get nostalgic and forget the skeletons in the closet?

I feel sorry for him because he never had a normal childhood, was abused, molested, screwed up, and thus his unstable mental status, but through it all he was and will ever remain the King of POP.

Michael ADMITTED to having children sleep in his bed and giving them WINE. Strange that if a neighbour did that to a child, he would be hung, drawn and quartered, not praised for his talents and forgiven because he had a poor upbringing.

Ya, I'll remember the true legend of music. He will be remembered by all music lovers. He was an icon for youngsters. I'll remember him by listening to his music and spreading his music to others.
