Facebook owned messaging app, WhatsApp has restored its services after it faced a global outage on Thursday. The glitch came to light after millions of users reported problem with a hashtag #whatsappdown on Twitter.

The latest outage had been the third such event in 2017 for the app. Earlier it went down in August impacting million users globally. Prior to that, it faced the same problem twice in the month of May.

WhatsApp users took to twitter to report the glitch and #WhatsApp down became the top trending hashtag within no time. Following are some of the reactions.

WhatsApp has 1 billion daily active users, and 1.3 billion monthly active users, as per the figures it shared back in July.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has officially rolled out the ‘Delete for Everyone’ feature to all users. The update is now available for the latest versions of Android, iPhone, and Windows Phones.

WhatsApp mentioned in a blog, “Starting today you can now delete messages you sent by mistake — whether to one person or an entire group. Here's how it works: tap and hold on the message, choose Delete, and then, Delete for everyone.”

Users will have 7 minutes to delete the message after it was sent. Messages that have been successfully deleted for everyone will be replaced with "This message was deleted" while in a group chat, the messages will be replaced with "This message was deleted" which implies that the sender deleted their message for everyone.
