Urad, its dal remain weak on low demand

Barring a further fall in urad and its dal prices on muted demand, other pulses held steady at the wholesale pulses market today.

Traders said easing demand from retailers against adequate stocks position on increased supplies from producing regions mainly kept pressure on urad and its dal prices.

In the national capital, urad and its dal chilka local drifted lower by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,500-5,500 and Rs 4,600- 4,700 per quintal, respectively. Its dal best quality and dhoya followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 4,700-5,200 and Rs 5,100-5,300 per quintal.
