Shoppers Stop gets new chief marketing officer

K Raheja Corp promoted retailer Shoppers Stop has got on board former chief digital officer of Raymond Uma Talreja to lead its marketing function. 

According to a senior company executive, Talreja has been appointed customer care associate, chief of marketing and customer officer.

Responding to a DNA Money query, BVM Rao, head – human resources, Shoppers Stop, said, Talreja will be responsible for evolving customer-centric strategies and create seamless shopping and service experience across the customer lifecycle. 

“She will oversee and lead the marketing strategy, brand development, communications,” said Rao, adding that Talreja’s focus will be to leverage consumer insights and data analytics to create initiatives that help meet customers’ changing needs.

This is Talreja’s second stint with Shoppers Shop after her five-year association that ended in 2007. 

She has almost two decades of work experience working with companies like Shaw Wallace, Trent Ltd, Burger King India, apart from Shoppers, Raymonds and Aditya Birla Retail.

Shoppers Stop has been undergoing a complete overhaul in terms of its management bandwidth since over a year now.
