Railway recruitment 2018: RRB announces vacancies under 7th Pay matrix, 10th pass can apply too

The Northern Frontier Railway has released notification related to vacancies under the sports quota. Intersted candidates can apply for the positions on or before September 10.

The Railway Recruitment Board has announced vacancies under the matrix of the Seventh Pay Commission. The Northern Frontier Railway has released notification related to vacancies under the sports quota. Intersted candidates can apply for the positions on or before September 10. 

There are total 21 posts under the sports quota. The distribution of vacancies across various events are as follows: 

Boxing: 03, Weightlifting: 01, Cycling: 01, Table Tennis: 02, Basketball: 02

Badminton: 02, Volleyball: 01, Cricket: 01, Bodybuilding: 01, Basketball: 04

According to the railway notification, Candidates who have cleared examination in 12th standard or 10th standard can apply for the posts.
"Candidates need to have the minimum Sports Norms to apply against the above mentioned games", the website read. 

Candidates should be the age of at least 18 years and not more than 25 years. It should be noted that the candidates can only apply through offline mode. 

Candidates applying under General and OBC categories will have to pay Rs 500 while for other categories, it is Rs 250.

As far as the salary package is concerned, Selected candidates for basketball and volleyball will get pay in the level 1 of pay matrix as per 7th Pay Commission.

For the rest of the games, candidates will get pay in the level 2 or 3 of pay matrix as per 7th Pay Commission.

Meanwhile, there was a bitter disappointment in store for fifty lakh Central government employees and an equal number of retirees, who have been waiting for a hike in minimum pay and fitment factor beyond the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. There was lot of speculation that PM  Narendra Modi may give some good news in his last Independence Day budget in this term as PM. Many believed that looking at good monsoon and positive economic factors, a positive announcement may come months before the general elections. 

While PM Modi spoke about how Indian economy will be a powerhouse in next three decades, he didn't have any news to offer for the government employees.
