Marketmen said stockists buying, driven by uptick in demand from retailers and dal mills in view of festive season against paucity of stocks on fall in supplies from producing regions mainly pushed up arhar, gram and other pulses prices.

In the national capital, arhar and its dal dara variety shot up by Rs 350 and Rs 400 to Rs 4,350 and Rs 6,300-8,100 per quintal, respectively.

Gram, gramdal local and best quality jumped by Rs 300 each to Rs 5,700-6,500, Rs 6,400-6,800 and Rs 6,800-6,900 per quintal, respectively. Kabuli gram small variety followed suit and traded higher by Rs 300 to Rs 9,800-11,000 per quintal.

Moong and its dal chilka local moved up by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,700-5,400 and Rs 5,400-5,600 per quintal. Its dal dhoya local and best quality traded higher by the same margin to Rs 6,000-6,500 and Rs 6,500-6,700 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold edged up by Rs 100 each to Rs 3,750-3,950 and Rs 3,800-4,050 per quintal. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 4,050- 4,550 and Rs 4,150-4,650 per quintal.

Malka local and best quality too went up by Rs 200 each to Rs 4,300-4,500 and Rs 4,400-4,600, while moth enquired higher by a similar margin to Rs 3,500-3,900 per quintal, respectively.

In line with overall trend, rajmah chitra moved up by Rs 100 to Rs 7,800-10,100 per quintal. (MORE)
