Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the foundation day function of chartered accountants' apex body ICAI on July 1 where he will speak on the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
July 1 is also the first day of the roll out of the landmark tax reform which would be launched on midnight of June 30.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), which has nearly three lakh members, today said Modi would address the function on July 1.
More than 15,000 people are expected to attend the event here.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley would be the guest of honour at the celebrations and there would also be a panel discussion on the GST.
"As with any new reform, there are certain queries and confusion surrounding the GST at the moment and we are happy to handhold small and medium scale industries as well as trading community to help them become GST ready," ICAI President Nilesh Shivji Vikamsey told reporters here.
In the run up to the GST implementation, the institute has been conducting workshops and seminars, among other initiatives to create awareness about the tax reform.
