Commuters should brace themselves for hardships as drivers of cab aggregators Uber and Ola have announced to go on an indefinite strike from Monday.

"Ola and Uber had given big assurances to the drivers, but today they are unable to cover their costs. They have invested Rs 5-7 lakh, and were expecting to make Rs 1.5 lakh a month but are unable to even make half of this, owing to the mismanagement by these companies," Sanjay Naik of Maharashtra Navnirman Vahatuk Sena, who is organising the strike, told news agency PTI.
It seems that the strike would create problems for daily commuters who often depend on these cab hailing services for going to office and other purposes. 1. Jugnoo
Jugnoo, an auto-rickshaw aggregator, could be your option for small or medium distances. It was founded in November 2014 by few IITians and became the country's first auto-rickshaw aggregator.
For booking a ride, you have to select the pickup location and then you would get the driver details via text message.
But not just auto rides, the app has expanded its operations, it now provides a wide range of local services including groceries, food delivery, meals, logistics and even a location-based local social network.
You can download the app from Google playstore, it is also available on Apple's app store.
2. Revv
You can also consider an option of self drive cars on rents. As the name suggests, you can book a car on rental and drive to your desired destination by yourself. Revv, another app provides the mentioned services.
It's easy and convenient. First you have to book a cab through app, providing the address details and time at which you would like to have a car, the car would be then delivered to your doorstep, and after the ride has been completed, you can fill in the drop requirements, and the Revv staff would come to your location to get back the car. Easy?
The app currently provides operations in all major cities, including Delhi-NCR and MUmbai.
3. Meru Cabs
Another option of booking a cab would be through Meru Cab. The servive now provides outstation cabs too at convenient prices.
You can book the cab via three options which are, by the Meru app, through Meru Facebook Chatbot and via Google Maps.
Meru has integrated its ride booking service with Google Maps. You can book your ride as you navigate via maps. Choose your destination on Google Maps, select the ride-hailing option, tap the Meru icon and your ride would reach to you at you rselected location.
4. Zoomcar
Another sself drive car on rent service app is Zoomcar. Zoomcar provides three categories to its customers to choose from, which are Zoom Lite, Zoom Classic and Zoom XL.
The app offers a number of rental plans for both long and distance commuters.
5. Orahi
Have not heard about it before? Well, this could be your new favourite. Orahi, just like Uber pool and Ola share is a pool service app.
Orahi began its operations in 2013. Users can register on the app as both, a coummuter or as a car owner. With their services and low-cost charges, Orahi has been emerged as one of the top options for daily commuters.
