Mukesh Ambani's RIL launches JioPhone 2 loaded with Facebook, WhatsApp and Youtube app

Addressing the 41st annual general meeting of Reliance Industries, Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that the JioPhone customer base in India has expanded to 25 million users. Ambani also informed that Reliance Industries is the largest GST payer in India. Besides, it pays the highest excise and customs duty, and income tax.

Addressing the 41st annual general meeting of Reliance Industries, Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that the JioPhone customer base in India has expanded to 25 million users. Ambani also informed that Reliance Industries is the largest GST payer in India. Besides, it pays the highest excise and customs duty, and income tax.

Ambani in RIL's AGM on Thursday said that the firm has now introduced few latest features to one of its flagship device JioPhone. Mukesh Ambani then invited his daughter Isha Ambani and his son Akash Ambani to demonstrate the latest additional features of 2.0. 

Akash Ambani launching the new app at the AGM informed the new and advanced JioPhone will now come up with Facebook, WhatsApp and the Youtube app. Akash and Isha Ambani then demonstrared that how the new app will work with just a simple voice command. 

Considering the wide popularity of the JioPhone, the new embed app will certainly provide a relief to the customers. Akash Ambani also said that the JioPhone users will be able to send the WhatsApp messages to other users both iOs and Android. 

Isha Ambani said that both the advanced JioPhone 2 and the older version of JioPhone will be available in the market. JioPhone 2 will feature horizontal screen viewing and a QWERTY keypad. 

Shloka Mehta, who is engaged to Mukesh Ambani’s son Akash Ambani, is seated next to group matriarch Kokilaben Ambani.

Reliance Industries had launched JioPhone at a price of Rs 0 in. JioPhone features a 2.4-inch QVGA display along with an SD card slot. It also includes FM Radio. The company also added NFC support to the JioPhone. The phone also comes with a distress button which would send a message to near and dear ones in case the phone user is in distress and presses the button. The phone can also link their Jan Dhan accounts and other modes of secure payments.
