MTNL's new plan gives 1.5 Gb data per day for Rs 171

With all telcos now slashing rates, state-run MTNL too has decided to join the race. Now it has come with an extremely lucrative offer which matches data plans of private operators like Reliance Jio and Airtel. The special plan starts at base price of Rs 171 and goes up to Rs 421, providing increasing amount of data for each price point. 

For Rs 171, MTNL is offering 1.5 Gb data benefit, along with unlimited calling facility and 100 free SMS calls. However, these facilities are only available in Delhi and Mumbai circles only. The catch is that MTNL is yet to start 4G services. So all these offers will be only available in 3G network, whereas for Reliance Jio and Airtel, users can avail 4G network. Also roaming charges are still applicable for usage outside Delhi and Mumbai. The validity of the plan is for 28 days. Once the daily data limit is exceeded, users can access internet at 3 paisa per 10 kb data. 

MTNL has other plans priced at Rs 197, Rs 365 and Rs 421.
