Months after Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta wedding, India is embracing itself for another marriage involving two business families. This time the families involved in the affair are two of India's oldest corporate families.
According to a report the Economic Times, eminent businessmen Noel Tata’s son Neville, and Vikram Kirloskar’s daughter Manasi got engaged in a private ceremony in Mumbai last week. The report quoted as sources as saying that the friendship between the couple's parents is old and the wedding will further strengthen their relationship.
Noel Tata, father of the groom-to-be, is the half-brother of the for Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata and currently heads Trent Ltd, the retail branch of Tata Group.
Neville worked with the food vertical at the various Trent brands at one point, the ET report said. He has two sisters - Leah and Maya - who have followed their father in the business.
Manasi, on the other hand, is the daughter of Vikram Kirloskar, the Chairman and Managing Director of Kirloskar Systems, and Vice-Chairman of Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
His daughter Manasi is actively involved in her family business and is Executive Director and CEO of Kirloskar Systems Ltd.
While Neville is said to be media shy and has no presence on social media, Manasi is very active Twitter and Instagram. She is also said a trained painter who exhibited her first works of art at the age of 13.
According to the report, Neville flew to Manasi's Bengaluru to propose her after a brief courtship. The two chose to not have a lavish celebration and instead decided to exchange rings in the presence of immediate family at the Tata family apartment in Mumbai.
The wedding is expected to take place by the end of the year.
