'Hey, tell me about good smartphone options under Rs 15,000,' said a colleague in office the other day.

I was about to give her all the tech gyaan when the Lenovo K8 Note arrived at my desk.

Intrigued by its looks, she asked about its specifications, price range and all the possible questions she could think of.

Now, after using it for over a month as my primary phone, I am in much better condition to sort out her queries. The device certainly will cater her need to provide entertainment without compromising with quality or camera performance.

Lenovo K8 note, just like its contemporaries OnePlus 5 and Honor 6X sports a dual camera.

But with so many good options already available in the market, does this device got enough to remain in the stiff competition, let’s find out.

Design: The design isn't flattering enough to talk about. With a metal body followed by standard looks, which you have already seen in a numbers of Android options available, Lenovo K8 does not offer anything new.

However, its dual-rear camera at the back does score some brownie points. Besides, the finger scanner, volume buttons on the side are within the reach, which scores some additional points for the latest offering from Lenovo.

Display: The 5.5-inch full HD display takes the cake for me. The user can choose between standard and vibrant modes for display for realistic and enhanced colours respectively.

The display is pretty impressive in sunlight also.

Camera: The camera is the key highlight of Lenovo K8 note. And to be honest, it’s more than enough for a budget smartphone.

The smartphone has 13 mega pixel at the back and at the front it got 5mp. The pictures are decent but only in bright light setup. In dim light, however, the shots are grainy.

For users, who would like to extend the customisation, the camera has a pro mode for advanced settings.

The dual camera is really good but does have a room for improvement. But the front camera will not disappoint the selfie lovers like me as the phone has an LED flash that helps take brighter selfies in the dark.

Performance & Battery: The Lenovo K8 Note runs on MediaTek Helio X23 deca-core 64-bit processor clocked at 2.3GHz and coupled with 3GB/4GB of RAM.

Games like Subway Surfer and temple run did not see any glitch. I mostly use Twitter, Facebook, Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp. Apart from social media, I use Netflix, Hotstar, Amazon Prime video among several apps. Honestly, during my usage I did not witness any lag while performing my day to day tasks.

And I must say, more than anything I found one of its best feature is the battery life.

Lenovo K8 Note is powered by a 4,000 mAh battery. It delivers almost a full day of battery backup. I used to charge my phone in the morning around 7 and it lasted till 10 in the night, this stay even after many incoming and outgoing calls various use of apps I have mentioned above and a heavy to medium video streaming.

Price: The K8 Note is priced at Rs 12,999 (3GB RAM + 32GB storage) and Rs 13,999 (4GB RAM + 64GB storage), and will be available exclusively on Amazon India.

Analysis: Lenovo K8 note has its limitations but at a price of Rs 12,999, the device has the best offerings.

With an outstanding battery life to a good enough camera, the device proves to be the value for money.

If you are looking for a smartphone with a budget up to Rs 15,000, and performance and battery life are in your priority list then going for Lenovo K8 note is highly recommendable.
