Jaggery: The wholesale gur (Jaggery) market displayed a

steady trend during the week in the national capital with prices after moving in a tight range in the absence of worthwhile demand amid negligible arrivals, closed at previous levels.

At Muzaffarnagar and Muradnagar, barring a rise of Rs 100 per quintal in gur chakku on paucity of stocks, other gur varieties remained flat in listless trade.

Marketmen said muted demand due to offseason, coupled with negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts in view of adverse weather conditions as well as blockage and diversion of roads due to "Kanwar-Yatra", largely kept gur prices unaltered.

In Delhi, gur Chakku, Pedi, Dhayya and Shakkar prices remained flat at Rs 3,500-3,600, Rs 3,800-3,900, Rs 3,900- 4,000 and Rs 4,100-4,200 per quintal, respectively.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur chakku prices hardened to settle at Rs 3,200-3,300 as compared to previous week's close of Rs 3,100-3,250, showing a rise up to Rs 100 per quintal.

Meanwhile, gur Raskat prices remained unchanged throughout the week at Rs 2,625-2,675 on some support from beer makers.

Coming to Muradnagar, prices of gur pedi and dhayya remained steady at Rs 3,400-3,450 and Rs 3,450-3,500 per quintal, respectively. (MORE)
