Jharkhand Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary (Planning and Finance), Amit Khare today said the state government and the state Auditor General will launch online pension facility from September 1.

Khare, who held a meeting with Chief Auditor General Mousmi Roy Bhattacharya and Planning and Finance department officials on implementation of online pension (e-pension), said the new facility will be launched on September 1 and training will be imparted to all government employees and officials retiring in the next six months as well as DDO officials for the purpose.

He said around 6,000 employees are retiring every year and pension applications in this regard was being given in writing.

Owing to postal delay, approval of pension gets delayed, which leads to unnecessary litigations, Khare said.

The state government has decided to introduce e-pension to address the problem. Retiring employees will have to provide details online to the DDO, who will forward it to the officials concerned for approval, he said.

Arrangement will also be made in all Pragya centres for retiring employees to provide details online, he said adding, employees living in remote areas will also be apprised of the process on their registered mobile phones.
