In a conference call with investors after making a comeback to Infosys on Thursday as the chairman of the company's Board, Nandan Nilekani assured stakeholders of the firm's continuous growth.

Eager to quell apprehensions over the recent churn within the company Nilekani emphasised on stability among the board members, "We have a very stable board. I have full support of all members, so stability is now in place".

At present, there are eight members in the Infosys Board including Nandan Nilekani.

He also stressed upon the fact that there would be no disruption in management operations over Vishal Sikka's abrupt resignation.

On appointing the new CEO, he said that the search is on and it might take a few weeks to take a final decision.

A nomination committee, chaired by Kiran Mazumdar Shaw would look after the appointment of CEO.

Nilekani said that the board would search for the suitable candidate worldwide and would consider both internal and external candidates including the Infosys alumni.

A confident Nilkeani also did not forget to praise Narayana Murthy and referred to him as the 'father of corporate governance'.

He,however, acknowledged Vishal Sikka's contribution to the firm and said that he would carry forward his ambitious plans for Infosys.

Nilekani also hinted at upcoming changes saying the structure of the management board may undergo a reform.

This morning, a nostalgic Nilekani took to twitter to share the excitement of joining back his old organisation, which he co-founded at the age of 26. Nilekani tweeted, "Joined at 26, re-joined it at 62. Life does turn full circle!"

On Thursday, Nilekani joined Infosys replacing  R Seshasayee who stepped down from his position.

Thursday's development came after over a year of wrangling between the Infy founders, led by N R Narayana Murthy, and company's Board, with Seshasayee in the forefront, over the issue of corporate governance. The war between the two factions was fought in the media.
