After embracing yoga, Ayurvedic and natural drugs are fast catching the attention of Americans. In America, Indian Ayurveda and herbal products are not considered medicines but these are finding popularity as the health and food supplements, says Indian origin New York-based Bhagwati Bhattacharya.

These views are supported by the upcoming three days Indo-US wellness summit which is scheduled from June 22 to June 24 at California's Saint Clara Convention wherein besides America's wellness companies, a large number of Indian companies such as Kerali Ayurveda, Dabur, and AIMIL Pharma are participating.

This wellness summit would be an opportunity for the country to prove its credentials in Ayurveda. Besides, showcasing different products related to Ayurveda, yoga, herbal and natural medicine, the participants would also reach out to global leaders by presenting the efficacy of ayurvedic products. It is reported that the experts will also be holding a brainstorming session on the subject which is expected to create awareness and impact about Ayurveda.Though the event has been organised by an American agency and the Union Ayush Ministry has also chipped in support.

"Usually, diabetes drugs are first developed by developed countries and then sold in India. However, this is for the first time that we would be showcasing indigenously developed anti-diabetic drug to the world", an official said.
