Domestic Stock Markets remain closed in India on 2nd October 2017 on account of Gandhi Jayanti.
Registering sharp losses last week, Sensex lost 2% and Nifty index dropped down by 1.8%.
Trading will resume on Tuesday and RBI shall review its fourth bi-monthly monetary policy on Wednesday. Rise in crude prices overseas and weakening macro fundamentals resulting in sliding rupee remains a matter of concern.
On Friday the BSE sensex closed down at 638.72 points or 2% at 31,283.72, while NIFTY dropped down 175.80 points, or 1.76 per cent, to 9,788.60. Whereas, the US Stocks on Friday gave a high record level closure.
The rupee strengthened to 65.28 per dollar from its 65.50 close in the previous session.
SEBI has put a hold on its directive on disclosure of loan defaults by listed companies within one working day from the 1st of October.
