Several companies in India are ahead of their Asian peers in terms of investment in breeding and production activities, accoding to the Access to Seeds Index

18% – seed firms in India have invested in breeding and production activities

4 Indian firms – are among the top 10 seed firms in South and South-East Asia

100 million – smallholder farmers in the country

11 companies – in Thailand have invested in breeding and production activities

21 companies – sell seeds in the country

83% – firms in India provide some form of extension service
