Rahul Gandhi on Friday during his no-confidence speech in the Lok Sabha opened fire against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government over failure of not flfiling promises made during the 2014 election campaign. Rahul Gandhi said that the Modi government failed to create as many job opportunities as it promised before assuming power.

"Where are the jobs promised for two crore youth? Only four lakh jobs have been created in the last one year. China gives employment to 50,000 youth in 24 hours. You give jobs to only 400 in 24 hours," the Congress president Rahul Gandhi said in his speech at the floor of the house.

However, PM Narendra Modi during his speech, refuted allegations and produced data to strengthen his claims. PM Modi said in one year the NDA government successfully created more than 1 crore jobs.

Rejecting the criticism, PM Modi said, "truth was being trampled" over the job debate and the opposition is misleading the nation by producing fake numbers.

PM Narendra Modi during his speech informed that his government has decided to publish monthly job data and an elobarated data from the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). To back his statement, he said that between September 2017 and May 2018, 45 lakh new subscribers had joined the EPFO, out of which 72% are less than 28 years of age.

He informed the house that the National Pension Scheme had attracted 5.68 lakh new subscribers during the same period.

PM Modi said that taking into consideration the private practice of lawyers, Doctors and Chartered Acoountants, more than six lakh jobs were craeted during 2016-17. Talking about the informal sector, he said that Transport sector also contributed in creating jobs.

However, he also clarified that the Employees State Insurance Scheme was not taken into account as Aadhaar linking of many individuals is still in process.

In his counter, the PM repeatedly targeted Congress' over its "arrogance and dynastic politics". He did not spare even UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi for her over confidence on numerical strength, and reminded how her calculations had failed in 1999.

The PM said that it was a floor test for Congress and not the government. "Congress has no faith in the Election Commission, judiciary, in the RBI, in international agencies. They have confidence in nothing."

Pm Narendra Modi also claimed that during 1947-2008, banks gave Rs 18 lakh crore in loans. "But during UPA's rule (2008-14), Rs 52 lakh crore was given as loans, a major cause for NPAs."
