INDUSTRIES AND MINES

  • Provision of Rs 843 cr for assistance under Industrial Policy 2015
     
  • 1,000 ‘Plug and Produce’ multi-storied sheds with common infra to be constructed on demand basis
     
  • Rs 850 crore for providing incentives under Textile Policy, Garments and Apparel Policy, Defence and Aerospace Policy, etc
     
  • Provision of Rs 250 crore for undertaking industrial infra development works under Gujarat Investment Promotion Programme in three years with support from JICA
     
  • Rs 50 crore provison to initiate ‘Start-up Fund’ for MSME

ENERGY & PETROCHEMICALS

  • Projects worth Rs 2,757 crore to strengthen power transmission network
     
  • Rs 1,921 crore to provide 1.22 lakh new agricultural power connections
     
  • Rs 320 crore to strengthen power infrastructure
     
  • Rs 220 crore provision for works of coal and solar based power generation
     
  • Rs 10 crore to promote usage of electric vehicles

WATER RESOURCES, WATER SUPPLY AND KALPASAR

  • Rs 857 crore for irrigation in hilly and tribal areas.
     
  • Provision of Rs 1,765 crore for undertaking works of 12 packages in second phase of SAUNI scheme
     
  • Rs 380 crore provision to strengthen canal network
     
  • Rs 750 crore to provide assistance to farmers to increase their income by using drip irrigation
     
  • Allocation of Rs 110 crore for Bhadbhut project to prevent salinity ingress during high tide in Narmada basin
     
  • Rs 3,311 crore for various water supply projects

SARDAR SAROVAR YOJANA

  • Rs 4,018 crore provision for construction of canals up to the minor.
     
  • Provision of Rs 1,295 crore for undertaking works of underground pipelines under Sahbhagi Sinchai Yojana
     
  • Rs 495 crore to be spent for expansion works of three pumping stations of Kutch branch canal
     
  • Statue of Unity gets provision of Rs 899 crore

URBAN DEVELOPMENT AND URBAN HOUSING

  • Rs 4,540 crore to be made available for civic infra in urban areas under Swarna Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
     
  • Rs 2,912 crore for works related to physical and social infra, internal infra in residential colonies on people’s participation basis
     
  • Rs 1,264 crore for water supply and underground drainage
     
  • Rs 597 crore under Smart City Mission for six cities, and Rs 1,189 crore under Shaheri Awas Yojana

ROADS AND BUILDINGS

  • Rs 2,516 crore for Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana, including new roads, resurfacing, upgradation, etc.
     
  • Rs 1,346 crore to construct roads and bridges
     
  • Provision of Rs 250 crore for two-laning of nearly 1,000 km of state highways
     
  • Six-laning of 201 km Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Rajkot National Highway No. 8A and 8B for an estimated Rs 2,754 crore

GOVT’S PUBLIC DEBT OVER RS 2.17 L CR

  • Gujarat government’s total public debt will be at Rs 2,17,337 crore by March 31, 2018.
     
  • This will come to 16.46% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP)
     
  • Total public debt was Rs 1,99,338, or 17.21% of GSDP, year-on-year
     
  • The government has gradually increased the market loans component in the past four years from 54.49% as on March 31, 2013 of total debt stock to 68.28% as on March 31, 2017
     
  • The high interest NFFS loan component has been decreased from 35.34% in 2013 to 23.26% in 2017.
     
  • The interest payment on public debt as a percentage of revenue receipts estimated at 13.06% in 2017-18; it was 14.65% in 2016-17 and 26.82% in 2004-05.
     
  • The Gujarat government has estimated that a public debt of Rs 36,801 crore will be incurred in the FY 2018-19 in addition to existing debt of Rs 2.17 lakh crore.
     
  • The government had incurred public debt of Rs 31,701 crore in 2017-18, as per the revised estimates, it remained at Rs 27,668 crore in the FY 2016-17, Rs 23,486 crore in FY 2015-16 and Rs 19,455 crore in FY 2014-15
     
  • The Gujarat government will repay Rs 15,434 crore of the public debt in 2018-19, that was Rs 13,700 crore in the revised estimate of FY 2017-18 and Rs 9073 crore in 2016-17

WOMEN, CHILD DEVELOPMENT

  • Rs 3080 crore total provision for nutrition and general well being of women and children.
     
  • Rs 84 crore provision for construction of 2000 anganwadi centres. Rs 29 crore of renovation of 784 anganwadis
     
  • Rs 997 crore for providing nutritious food to 29.31 lakh children in age group of 0 to 6 years

FOREST, ENV DEPARTMENT

  • A provision of Rs 1287 crore made for the forest and env department.
     
  • Rs 4 crore allotted to ‘Project Lion’ for conservation in of lion in Gir and Greater Gir
     
  • Rs 3 crore allocated to conservation and development of rare and endangered species like vulture, wolf, Great Indian Bustard and Sloth Bear
     
  • Rs 247 crore allocated for community forestry project to increase the green cover

CLIMATE CHANGE DEPT

  • Rs 60 crore provision for solar rooftop system in residential houses. Rs4 crore providision to provide 40,000 LED tube lights
     
  • Rs 3 crore provision to provide assistance to 3000 school and college going students for battery operated two wheelers. A provision of Rs 2.5 crore for financial assistance to 1250 beneficiaries to purchase e-Rickshaw
