In what could prove as a relief for job seekers in India, Amazon India has highest job openings for India in Asia-Pacific region. According to Amazon's website, it could be witnessed that the e-retailing firm has almost three times openings for India in comparison with other nations in Asia-Pacific.

According to its official website, Amazon has as many as 1300 vacancies in India across various roles. Most of the openings are in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.

Neighbour China has 467 jobs while Japan has 381 job vacancies.

Australia and Singapore have 250 and 174 openings respectively.

It should be noted that the higest number of vacancies in India come even after the recent government policies that could badly impact Amazon's growth in the country.

Earlier, tightening norms for e-commerce firms having foreign investment, the government barred online marketplaces like Flipkart and Amazon from selling products of companies where they hold stakes and banned exclusive marketing arrangements that could influence product price.

The revised policy on foreign direct investment in online retail, issued by the commerce and industry ministry, also said that these firms have to offer equal services or facilities to all its vendors without discrimination.

The revised norms are aimed at protecting the interest of domestic players, who have to face tough competition from e-retailers having deep pockets from foreign investors, the ministry said.

The policy would be effective from February 2019."The move would completely prevent influencing prices by e-commerce players. This will also ensure better enforcement of FDI guidelines in e-commerce companies," a senior official had then said.
