Last time an Indian PM came was in 1997, when HD Deve Gowda came. India's GDP has increased six times in last 21 years.
PM says today focus in not only on network society, but also on Big Data, Artificial Intelligence.
In 1997, there was no concept of Euro currency, neither there was possibility of Brexit.
PM says it was a time when Google, Amazon and Twitter weren't there.
He says Davos was ahead of its time in 1997 and the same thing is applicable there.
PM says there are new challenges today and technology driven transformation is affecting common life.
PM also mentions importance of social media in connecting, modulating and breaking systems.
PM highlights the importance of data. He says those who will gain control of data will go ahead. He stresses on the importance of cyber security.
PM Modi mentions many of the changes also have many pitfalls. PM asks if our world order is helping in increasing division and barriers.
PM says India has always helped in uniting and not dividing people. He mentions how Sanskrit language and Indian intellectuals helped in building the concept of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.
PM says that there is lack of unity which has added to the challenges we are facing currently.
PM identifies three major challenges human society is facing currently. They are climate change, terrorism and protectionism.
PM says effect of extreme weather is increasing daily leading to melting of glaciers. PM says that the need was to be united against Climate Change. PM asks the need of the hour is to introspect what can be done to stop this process. PM asks how many countries are helping developing countries in reducing carbon emission.
PM says ancient Indian texts have mentioned the need of saving the climate. PM mentions how Yoga and Ayurveda also highlights need for saving the climate. PM mentions India's target of getting 160 GW of renewable energy by 2022.
PM says terrorism is one big problem plaguing the society. He says a big threat is the difference made between good and bad terrorists. Another problem is educated people getting involved in terrorism.
PM says increasingly countries are resorting to protectionism, which is opposite of what globalisation seeks to achieve. PM Modi says the attraction of globalisation is slowly fading it.
PM says UN and WTO are still premier institutions, but do they reflect the need of the 21st society, asks Modi. PM says power of protectionism is increasing and it wants to change the direction of globalisation.
PM Modi says increasingly new tariff and trade barriers are coming up. PM calls it problematic and says need is to accept the changes and make policies accordingly.

PM says India will be 5 trillion-dollar economy by 2025. PM says youth are being trained not only to be job seeker but also as job givers. PM says India's rankings and ratings have improved in the last few years.

PM says how India has given soldiers for UN Peace Keeping Forces. PM highlights how India has always taken steps to help the global community in need. PM says India has been the first responder in problems faced by neighbouring countries. PM mentions how India helped in evacuating nearly 2000 people from other countries in Yemen.
PM says India believes in multiculturalism in multipolar world. PM says India has shown democracy can respect diversity and help in solving problems. PM quotes Rabindranath Tagore's concept of 'Heaven of Freedom' where is so scope for friction. PM says India reckons whole world as a family and for world also, Indians are their family.
