Gandhinagar-based cooperative milk producing society Madhur Dairy will be selling chopped vegetables from next year. The management of the Dairy will purchase the vegetables from farmers directly and will process accordingly. Madhur Dairy is targeting working women as their clientele.

The chairman of Madhur Dairy Shankarsinh Rana addressed a press conference on Tuesday at the dairy premise and said that this project would start next year. Rana said: "We are going to celebrate our golden jubilee in 2020. We are starting many projects as part of celebrations and supplying fresh, chopped or ready-to-cook green vegetable will be part of the same. This will be a great gift for working women."

"Our initiative will also be a great booster for farmers as we shall purchase vegetables from them at sustainable prices. We will then chop or peel those vegetables and then pack in different weight packages after processing it — like boiling, roasting or freezing. We also plan to develop a marketing chain for this," Rana added.
