Fuel rates, Sep 13: Petrol, diesel prices remain stable across metros

Fuel prices remained unchanged across the four metro cities on Sunday with petrol being sold at Rs 81.86 per litre in the national capital.

Oil marketing companies kept the petrol price unchanged after they fell on Saturday.

In the other key cities of Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata, the fuel was priced at Rs 88.51, Rs 84.85 and Rs 83.36 per litre.

Diesel price too remained at the same levels at Rs 72.93, Rs 79.45, Rs 78.26 and Rs 76.43 per litre in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata respectively.

On Saturday, the pump price of petrol and diesel fell by 13 and 12 paise per litre, respectively in the national capital. This was the second fall in petrol prices and the fifth reduction in diesel prices this month. Prior to this month while petrol prices had risen, diesel prices remained steady or fell on a few days.

Fuel prices are likely to stay subdued in the coming days as crude oil prices continue to fall.

Fuel rates for the day announced at 6 AM

Petrol and diesel prices, if changed, are updated every day at 6 AM. The new rates come into effect from 6 AM onwards. The price of petrol and diesel almost doubles after adding excise duty, dealer commission and other items.

You can also know the daily rate of petrol and diesel in your city via SMS. Indian Oil customers can text 'RSP' at 9224992249 and BPCL consumers can write 'RSP' and send the message to 9223112222. HPCL consumers can find out the price by typing 'HPPrice' and sending the SMS to 9222201122.
