Fuel prices today: Diesel hiked again, petrol remains unchanged; check rates

Fuel prices were hiked by the oil marketing companies on Friday again, putting more burden on the pockets of people. While petrol prices remained constant, the price of diesel was hiked by 17 paise a litre.

Following the hike, diesel prices in Delhi have now gone up by 92 paise more than petrol.

On Friday, the price of one litre of petrol is Rs 80.43 while diesel will now cost Rs 81.35 per litre in the national capital.

• Mumbai - petrol is priced at Rs 87.19 and diesel at Rs 79.56 a litre.
• Kolkata - Petrol rs 82.10 and diesel by Rs 76.49 a litre.
• Chennai - Petrol is priced at Rs 83.63 and diesel at Rs 78.37 a litre.
• Noida - Petrol is Priced at Rs 81.08 and diesel at Rs 73.29 a litre.
• Gurugram - petrol is Rs 78.64 and diesel is Rs 73.47 a litre.
• Lucknow - petrol is Rs 80.98 and diesel is Rs 73.19 a litre.

Rates differ from state to state depending on the incidence of value-added tax (VAT). Each state imposes separate VAT. Due to this, the rates of diesel and petrol are changed for consumers according to the states. The new rates come into effect from 6 am and the prices of petrol and diesel change at 6 am every day.
