Essel Infraprojects bags three waste-to-energy projects in Andhra Pradesh

The projects will come up at Kadapa, Anantpur and T P Gudem

Essel Infraprojects Ltd, an Essel Group firm, has bagged three waste-to-energy projects in Andhra Pradesh.

The projects will come up at Kadapa, Anantpur and T P Gudem. In order to implement the projects, Essel Infraprojects has awarded the contract to Hitachi Zosen India Pvt Ltd, the Indian arm of Japan's Hitachi Zosen.

Each of the three plants comprises one R-Grate type waste combustor and flue gas treatment systems with a processing capacity of 330-tonne-per-day and a power output of approximately 6,000 kilowatt.

A Vidyavathsal, president, environment & water EPC, Essel Infraprojects, said, “The association with Hitachi Zosen India Pvt Ltd, which is a leader in waste-to-energy technology, will enable us to deliver state of the art plants.”

In a media statement on the deal, Hideaki Horiuchi, managing director of Hitachi Zosen India, said, “This project is in line with the clean India program me (Swachh Bharat Abhiyan) initiated by the government of India. We are delighted and proud of the award marking our successful entry into the state of Andhra Pradesh by our trend-setting combustion technology.”

This isn’t the first tie-up between the two companies. Essel Infraprojects and Hitachi Zosen India have earlier worked together in delivering the waste-to-energy plant in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.
