Eros Now and Xiaomi Mi TV enter into distribution partnership

Digital platform Eros Now said it has entered into a strategic distribution partnership with Chinese-handset maker Xiaomi for its smart LED TVs. "This distribution deal between Eros Now and Xiaomi is an extension of the immersive content experience that both partners offer. With this partnership, Eros Now further enhances its distribution to the larger screen in India and then across Asia," it said in a statement.

Eros Now will be available within Patchwall on all Mi TVs sold in India, giving all users access to its bouquet of over 11,000 Bollywood and regional language films, entertainment shows, music videos and originals at a monthly subscription of Rs 49 and Rs 99.

The Mi TV 4 in India will come with a 55-inch 4K display and will offer content, including from Hotstar, Voot, Sony Liv, Hungama Play, Alt Balaji, The Viral Fever, etc. The Mi TV 4 is 4.9mm thin with a 4K display that goes almost all the way to the edge.  The device runs on a customised operating system called Patchwall OS. Additionally, it also includes 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It also comes with speakers, along with a subwoofer and two rear wireless satellite speakers which together make up the Mi TV 4 Dolby Atmos home theater. Dolby Atmos utilizes the upfiring speakers to project sound overhead, so audio envelopes the viewer in 3D space.

On the other hand, the Mi TV 4A sports a full-HD display with a 1920x1080 pixels resolution. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Amlogic processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. It will be available with the Patchwall interface. It also includes an internal storage of 8GB. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, three HDMI ports, three USB 2.0 ports, one Ethernet port and 3.5mm headphone jack port. It will be available with the Patchwall interface.

On the other hand, the 32-Inch Mi TV 4A sports a HD display along with a 178-degree viewing angle. It is powered by a quad-core Amlogic processor, paired with 1GB of RAM. It also includes an internal storage of 8GB. Connectivity features includes Wi-Fi, three HDMI ports, two USB 2.0 ports, an Ethernet port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
