Castorseed futures fall Rs 29 per quintal on weak cues

Castorseed prices drifted lower by Rs 29 to Rs 4,288 per quintal in futures trade today as participants indulged in trimming their bets in tune with weak domestic markets.

Marketmen said cutting down of positions by traders, tracking a weak trend at the spot markets, led to fall in castorseed prices in futures trade here.

Besides, muted export demand at existing levels too dampened trading sentiments, they added.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, castorseed for delivery in June contracts weakened by Rs 29 or 0.67 per cent to Rs 4,288 per quintal, having an open interest of 28,450 lots.

The most-traded delivery in July contracts also lost Rs 19 or 0.43 per cent to Rs 4,357 per quintal, in an open interest of 91,880 lots.
