Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is presenting the last full Budget ahead of 2019 General Election in the Lok Sabha. Even as the country listens to the budget speech to look for major announcements, Twitter had a field day tearing down the Jaitley’s all-men Budget team.
Rakesh Sharma, a known documentary maker, took to Twitter to slam the budget team. On Wednesday, the Incoem Tax department had tweeted a photo of the budget team along with Jaitley.
In a curt tweet, Sharma said, ‘absolutely heartwarming to see so many women in the Budget team!’ ‘No wonder we have strong pro-women tax reforms & economic policies, eg, GST on ‘luxury items’ like sanitary pads & menstrual hygiene products and exemptions for sindoor etc,’ he added.

The tweet created quite a buzz with many tweeple slamming the Centre for lack of women in the team. ‘Wah, kya #manel hai,’ Shrabonti Bagchi said. ‘What? You didn’t notice the Pink flowers for women empowerment,’ said another user. ‘They will put a pink cover to budget document to make-up for not having a woman in the team. Shame,’ said a tweet.
‘This pic makes me feel more like a Vagina than the movie Padmavati,’ said another comment for the tweet.
