The Union budget has triggered mixed reactions among people associated with various industries, corporates and commoners. Though there is little for the state to celebrate as there has been no specific allocation, but Centre has budgeted large funds for infrastructure, health care sector, has given tax rebate for MSME, impetus to agriculture which forms the core of industries in Rajasthan will benefit the state in general.

However, the imposition of 10% long term capital gain tax on sale of listed securities has not gone down well with the industry and investors.

“It’s a balanced budget with focus on health. Things like opening of 180 medical colleges is a great initiative.  The benefit given to MSME will be a great boost as it will increase the employment in this sector too. The only negative is introduction of long term capital gain,” said Gaurav Rungta, joint managing director of Man Structurals pvt ltd.

Proposal for developing ten prominent tourist sites into ’Iconic Tourism’ destinations including infrastructure and skill development, development of technology, attracting private investment, branding and marketing is a welcome move and we hope that few of them would be developed in Rajasthan, said Randhir Vikram Singh, co-chairman, FICCI  Rajasthan State Council and joint MD, Mandawa Hotels Ltd.

Allocation of Rs 14.34 lakh crore for creation of livelihood and infrastructure in rural areas is going to impact the lives of rural India and will have boosting impact on employment, he added. Allocation of over Rs7000 crore for Textile Sector will also benefit Rajasthan, which is an important sector for the state, he further said.

Nitin Gupta, Director and Head, CII Rajasthan said that many of the measures in the budget are in line with CII recommendations such as incentives for new jobs, extending fixed term employment, enhancing quality of education including teacher training and addressing healthcare access. However, common people were expecting changes in the income tax rate slab which has not been done.
