State-run BEML Ltd today reported the narrowing of net loss to Rs 85.13 crore during the first quarter ended June, on higher income.
The company had posted a net loss from ordinary activities after tax of Rs 107.10 crore in the year-ago period, BEML Ltd said in a BSE filing.
Total income of the company rose to Rs 631.66 crore from Rs 345.71 crore in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal.
Total expenses were at Rs 710.65 crore as against Rs 448.28 crore in the year-ago period.
BEML operates in three major business verticals for associated equipment manufacturing - mining and construction, defence and rail and metro.
Shares of the company ended 4.34 per cent up at Rs 1,553.25 on BSE.
