According to ZeeBiz.com, even as the Centre prevaricates, other states are not holding back in helping their employees, even small segments of their staff, deal with the rising effect of inflation that eats into their salaries thereby adversely impacting their lifestyle.
It has been revealed that Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has ordered a hike in the special pay of state government drivers from Rs 800 to Rs 1,000 per month. He has also cleared a hike in the uniform allowance from Rs 200 to Rs 300.
Not just that, the chief minister also ordered that the pending medical and travelling allowance bills of the drivers and conductors should be cleared at the earliest.
The CM also came to the help of drivers of dozers, JCB and plant machines, who have not received any promotion during their careers. He announced a grant of two special increments for them.
Aside from drivers, the chief minister also promised to look into the demands of another section of the government employees. He said that his government would soon take a decision on changing the designation of the veterinary pharmacists as veterinary inspectors and also fulfill other other genuine demands.
