7th pay commission: Good news ahead Diwali, these employees to get pay hike soon

7th pay commission: Good news came just befor Diwali for the Delhi government employees. The Delhi government has approved the revision of pay scales according to the recommendations of the seventh pay commission. The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi in a statement said that it has approved the 7th pay commission linked Department of Higher Education's proposal for the grant of revised pay scales to teachers and equivalent cadres and administrative posts in universities and colleges. 

With the new 7th CPC implementation, the teachers will get the revised pay on pro-rata basis effective from January 1, 2016. This means they will not only get the revised pay but will also get 34 months' arrears under 7th pay commission matrix. 

In September, the Delhi government had approved the Education Department's proposal to revise guest teachers pay in September this year.

Earlier, the state Cabinet of Bihar had hiked the dearness allowance(DA) by two per cent. DA would be given to the employees with effect from July 1 this year. Bihar cabinet secretariat department Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar said these employees will now get DA of 9 per cent in place of the existing 7 per cent.

Government employees, pensioners and family pensioners who are getting revised pay scales would be eligible for this hike, Kumar said. The government will have to bear an additional burden of Rs 419 crore annually for this hike.

Meanwhile, the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh decided to replace the old  pension scheme with the new one. Protesting which, the employees threatened to go on strike. However, the state government has told the staff that their salary would be cut if they participate in the protest.  

The Tripura government revised the pay structure of its two lakh employees with effect from October 1 this year and claimed that it is on a par with the 7th Central Pay Commission.
