5 upgrades you should know about IRCTC's new website

IRCTC or Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, the e-ticketing arm of Indian Railways has recently upgraded its website and to users' delight the new site is clutter-free, faster and have some relevant upgrades for the customers.

IRCTC or Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, the e-ticketing arm of Indian Railways has recently upgraded its website and to users' delight the new site is clutter-free, faster and have some relevant upgrades for the customers. Initially, users have been requested to switch to the beta version of the website to get the first-hand experience of its new look and usage for a period of 15 days. During the mentioned time period, Indian Railways will keep anote of suggestions it will recieve from the users regarding the IRCTC website and eventually with the new changes the new interface will replace the older one. 

Below we have listed out five upgrades which you should know about the IRCTC's upgrade: 

1. With the new upgrade, IRCTC website will also now let users know the probability of confirmation of wait-listed tickets, based on a new algorithm developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).

2. Unlike the previous times, users do not have to login from their registered e-mail ids or with any other credential to check and search trains. They can also know about seat availability without loggin in. 

3. According to the new feature of wait-list prediction, one can predict the chances of a wait-listed or an RAC ticket getting confirmed on the basis of booking trends. 

4. The users can also perform multiple activities like cancellation, printing, request for an SMS, selection of an alternative train by exercising the "Vikalp" option and changing the boarding point, if required.

5. While booking tickets, separate cards for each passenger have been provided to fill in their details. Pre-filled particulars will ensure a quick booking experience. The user can manage the payment options by marking six banks as preferred banks under the 'My Profile' section.

Nearly 13 lakh tickets are booked on the IRCTC website every day against a reserved accommodation of 10.5 lakh berths. 

Earlier, IRCTC launched a new method for booking rail tickets including Tatkal tickets. Taking advantage of the new service, IRCTC e-wallet users can now book rail e-tickets including Tatkal quota tickets through its mobile android app, IRCTC Rail Connect. 

IRCTC e-wallet is a mode of payment which enables users to deposit money in advance with IRCTC. Below we have explained the way to pay for e-tickets via IRCTC e-wallet. 

1. First the user needs to register them at IRCTC e-wallet facility through IRCTC website. According to IRCTC, a user can have a maximum of six banks in his or her preference list. 

2. Passengers can book tickets by selecting IRCTC's e-wallet service while making payments.
