4.86 lakh MSMEs from Gujarat registered on portal

More than 10 per cent of the total Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) registered on the Udyog Aadhaar portal of the Union Ministry of MSME, are from Gujarat.

The ministry had launched the portal in September 2015, and it has seen registration of 48.39 lakh MSMEs so far. Of these, 4.86 lakh MSMEs are from Gujarat, according to the information provided by Union Minister of State for MSME, Giriraj Singh, in response to Rajya Sabha MP Parimal Nathwani in the Parliament on Wednesday.

The minister stated that 24,248 MSME registrations were cancelled on the portal, of which 25 were from Gujarat. According to the minister's reply, prior to the portal's launch, 7.88 lakh MSMEs had filed the Entrepreneurs Memorandum during 2013-14 and 2014-15.
