It's been 15 years since Parineeta released. The film gave Indian cinema one of the most talented actors ever, Vidya Balan and memorable performances by Sanjay Dutt and Saif Ali Khan. The film directed by Pradeep Sarkar in his debut also starred Dia Mirza and Raima Sen in pivotal roles. Parineeta had beautiful music given by Shantanu Moitra and showed the city of Calcutta most gorgeously. Now, as the film completed 15 years of its release, the whole team took a trip down memory lane.
Vidya took to her Instagram page and shared the trailer of Parineeta along with the movie stills. Then she shared a series of BTS stills with her co-stars and professed her unconditional love for cinema. Vidya penned, "Like Lolita was Shekhar's better half even before the world knew it, you were mine too ... but on the 10th June 2005, I became your Parineeta. I loved you then and I love you now and I love you forevermore ...my dear Cinema. And to all those who have made sure this marriage survives and thrives, Tahe Dil Se Shukriya! #15YearsOfParineeta Thank you for the working still my friend @pavitrsaith P.S: Incidentally Parineeta was also the first film my #Shekhar, #SiddharthRoyKapur worked on after joining #UTV... his first film too."
Sanjay also shared stills and captioned his post stating, "Thank you, everyone, for giving so much love to this film! #15YearsofParineeta @balanvidya #SaifAliKhan @vidhuvinodchoprafilms @diamirzaofficial @moitrashantanu @swanandkirkire #BishwadeepChatterjee #Rekha @raimasen @pradeepsarkar".
Dia also wrote, "So many wonderful memories made on this film and so many lifelong friendships #15YearsOfParineeta @balanvidya #SaifAliKhan @duttsanjay #Rekha @raimasen @pradeepsarkar @vidhuvinodchoprafilms @moitrashantanu @swanandkirkire #bishwadeepchatterjee. While praising Vidya, Dia stated, "Our beautiful Vidya's powerful debut film... It was such a pleasure being a part of this lyrical period romantic drama. The entire team worked tirelessly to make every moment, every frame the magic that it turned out to be. The art design, the costume, the cinematography, the music, the dialogue, the entire cast and crew and the man with the painstaking vision @pradeepsarkar. Raima also remembered the movie with a still posing with Vidya.
Parineeta hit the screens on June 10, 2005.
