You were ready 'maid' for this role: Salman Khan on Kubbra Sait playing the character of a maid in 'Ready'

Kubbra Sait, who last appeared in Zoya Akhtar's movie Gully Boy starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Verma, recollected an incident when Salman Khan portrayed his sense of humour to her in Bollywood first.

Kubbra made her debut in Bollywood with Salman Khan's film Ready. In the film, she played the role of a maid who eventually becomes a part of the family as she gets married in the family. Kubbra bagged the film right after she arrived in Mumbai with dreams of becoming an actor.

At a recent event, Kubbra revealed that Salman Khan, once he knew about this, kept on teasing her by saying, “You were ready maid for this role.” The film was directed by Anees Basmee and also starred Asin as the lead actress. The movie also saw appearances by Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Arbaaz Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Mahesh Manjrekar and others.

Co-incidentally Kubbra once again appeared as a host in Salman Khan's 2016 release Sultan. The movie, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, also starred Anushka Sharma in the lead role. Meanwhile Kubbra was hosting the matches with Meiyang Chang. She however gained stardom post playing Cuckoo in the web-series Sacred Games. She played a transgender woman who was important in Nawazuddin Siddiqui's life. The web-series also featured Saif Ali Khan and Radhika Apte in lead roles.
