'Womaniya': Bhumi Pednekar-Taapsee Pannu celebrate womanhood with empowering lyrics in 'Saand Ki Aankh' song

Bhumi Pednekar drops the second song from her upcoming sports biopic, Saand Ki Aankh. Titled, Womaniya the song shows the lead actors celebrating themselves and their identities as proud women.

Bhumi shared the song with fans on social media. She captioned the video as if challenging the world, and wrote, "Ab dekhegi yeh duniya...#Womaniya!" Sung by Vishal Dadlani and Vishal Mishra the peppy number is a festive song. The music is given by Vishal Mishra, while the lyrics for Womaniya are penned by Raj Shekhar.

Lead co-star Taapsee Pannu while sharing the song claimed it had a strong impact on her. She captioned the post as, "The song that gave me goosebumps the first time I heard it! Out now!!!"

The music video shows, Bhumi and Taapsee in a younger avatar. They two are seen relaxing and discussing the government's opinion on Nasbandi, aka Vasectomy. Bhumi says, 'Men do only one job well and if the government restricts that too what good are they?" to which Tappsee replies it's in their favour. She adds, "Nasbandi restrictions should be applied throughout their lives. At least they are breathing as per their free will. I am feeling very relaxed today, thanks to the news." The two then break into a dance, the lyrics of the song are also very empowering and uplifting for women.

Saand Ki Aankh is directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Anurag Kashyap. Apart from Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu the film also stars Viineet Kumar, Prakash Jha. Based on the lives of sharpshooters Chandro and Prakashi Tomar, it will release on October 25, 2019.
