Article 15 is one of the most important films of 2019.  People who have watched it are already hailing it as the investigative drama of the year for its hard-hitting storyline. The movie has managed to strike a chord with the audience right from the time its trailer was released.

Viewers have been curious to watch this movie for more reasons than one. This is the first time Ayushmann Khurrana, who has delivered back-to-back hits last year, is teaming up with Anubhav Sinha. The latter had helmed the critically-acclaimed Mulk in 2018. We give you a few other reasons to watch this social drama.

Article 15 is inspired by real-life incidents. From Dalit rapes, caste discrimination to other atrocities, it depicts the alarming evils that plague the Indian society.

Ayushmann will be seen as a cop for the first time in this movie that is produced by Benaras Media Works and Zee Studios. The actor, who is known for his slice-of-life films, portrays a conscientious man of law.

He is ably supported by a stellar ensemble cast comprising Isha Talwar, M Nassar, Manoj Pahwa, Sayani Gupta, Kumud Mishra and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. They have delivered a power-packed collective performance along with Ayushmann, an actor who has a profound ability to identify great scripts. With a talented bunch like that, it sure is a promising deal!

The last time such real, social issues were tackled sensitively as well as grittily was in movies like GangaaJal (2003) and Aakrosh (2010). Article 15, which releases today, too, strives to compel audiences to think and question the basics of society in a similar way.
