After 20 years, the Jodhpur court finally announced its verdict in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case on Thursday. Salman Khan and his Hum Sath Sath Hain co-stars Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali Bendre were accused of killing blackbucks near Kankani village of Rajasthan while shooting for their film. On Thursday, the Jodhpur court acquitted Saif, Neelam, Tabu and Sonali in the case while Salman was convicted in the same. Salman has also been sentenced to a 5-year imprisonment. Soon after the verdict was announced, Salman's co-stars from the film left him in Jodhpur and rushed back to Mumbai. On the other hand, Salman's good friend Preity Zinta went to visit Salman in jail on Friday.

The moment Chief Judicial Magistrate Dev Kumar Khatri pronounced the verdict in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, Salman Khan was standing alone in the courtroom with his sisters Alvira, Arpita and bodyguard Shera.

Preity Zinta, who has worked with Salman in a couple of movies, was spotted at the Jodhpur airport earlier in the day on Friday. She was wearing a large had to prevent the sun (or avoid getting noticed by the media?) and headed straight to the Jodhpur Central Jail to meet Salman. The actress spent about an hour with him in the jail.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan's bail hearing has been deferred for tomorrow by the Court. so the actor will be spending one more night in jail. He has been given the barrack number 2 and he's prisoner number 106 in the Jodhpur Central Jail. The actor's cell is right next to that of Asaram, who's in prison for raping a 15-year-old school girl.
