Shahid Kapoor and Kangana Ranaut were seen sharing the screen space in Vishal Bhardwaj's last release Rangoon. Though, their on screen chemistry was pretty good, the movie tanked at the box office.
Reports about a tiff between Kangana and Shahid were rife at the time of the film's release. Even during the promotions of the film, the duo took potshots at each other and a lot of differences cropped up between the duo. In fact, the tension in their equation with each other was very much palpable when both of them appeared for promotions of the film as well.
Recently, both Shahid and Kangana were spotted at an event together and they made sure not to bump into each other. Both of them were invited as chief guests at the recently concluded Reebok Fit to Fight Awards and they were to present awards to the winners.
Now, one would expect them to cross paths, especially when both of them were present for the event, but that did not happen. A report on BollywoodLife quoted a source as saying, "Shahid and Kangana had made it very clear to the organisers that they won’t share the same table or stage at any given point of time. In fact, they had requested different spaces and times for entry, exit and interviews during the show. So while Kangana kickstarted the event and left mid-way, Shahid only came towards the end of the awards night. They made sure not to bump into each other at all and looks like they will be maintaining this in the future too.”
Meanwhile, Shahid's upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali film Padmavati has been mired into a lot of controversies following objections to its release by Rajput Karni Sena and several other fringe groups. At the same event, Kangana did extent her support to the film. When Shahid was informed about the same, he thanked Kangana and all those who've expressed their concerns for the film voiced their support for the film.
On the other hand, Kangana is currently busy filming for Manikarnika - The Queen of Jhansi. A few stills from the sets of the film in Rajashtan recently made it to social media platforms and went viral.
