From singing at a railway station to facing lights, camera, and booms, internet sensation Ranu Mondal has quite a journey! Ever since she was captured singing 'Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai', Ranu's videos, whether with her daughter, or from her Bollywood launch, have gone viral.

For the uninitiated, Himesh Reshammiya gave Ranu Mondal her grand launch in B-Town. He reasoned on a Television show where he spotted Ranu, "Salman bhai's [Khan] father, Salim uncle once advised me that whenever I come across a talented person, I should encourage him. Ranuji's singing was so mesmerising that I had to give her this platform."

"When I wore the headphones for the first time, it made me even more confident. I used to listen to songs of Lataji [Mangeshkar], Mohammed Rafi and Kishore Kumar and keep learning," remembered Ranu, when she was giving an interview to Mid-Day.

The journey for Ranu wasn't easy either. She was reportedly abandoned by her family and made a living by singing at the Ranghat railway station, which is when she was spotted. Talking about the same, Ranu mentioned, "I never gave up hope. Even during the worst phase of my life, singing kept me going. I didn't imagine that I would get such a huge platform, but I had complete faith in my voice,"

Latest news reports suggest that Ranu did not even meet her daughter since eight years. When asked about Elizabeth Sathi Roy abandoning her mother, Mondal stated, "I don't want to dwell in the past. God willing, we all can be together again someday."
