India's first female superstar Sridevi's sudden demise has her fans reeling. Many thronged the path of her final journey on Wednesday. People from as far as Karnataka and Chennai had come to catch the last glimpse of their screen idol.
social media tributes were aplenty, WhatsApp groups, family dinner discussions were incomplete without people sharing their memories of the Bollywood star.
Then there was Prakash.
Comedian, screenwriter, and lyricist Varun Grover came across this street musician named Prakash while he was onboard a Borivali-bound Mumbai local train.
Grover posted a video of Prakash in which the musician played a medley of Sridevi's iconic songs in Hindi cinema.
According to Grover's tweet, Prakash's Ravanahatha was handmade. The artist began with 'Tere Mere Hothon Pe' from 1989's Chandani. it was followed by 'Tu Na Ja Mere Baadshah' and the title song from 1992's Khuda Gawah.
So last night in the crowded Borivali local, Prakash with his hand-made Sarangi started playing 'Tere mere honthon par'. Soon many of us in the bogey realised he's giving a medley-tribute to #Sridevi. Goosebumps followed. pic.twitter.com/qJr2HTgaWF
