'Waiting to see you as best athlete on-screen': Saina Nehwal turns cheerleader for Parineeti Chopra

Few months ago, Parineeti Chopra started preparing for her first sports biopic based on Saina Nehwal's life. The actress is often sweating it out on the court, gearing up for the role and preparing for an athletes' role can as tedious as becoming one. Parineeti shared a post from the badminton yesterday which says she has been dedicating all the time for her upcoming film.

The picture shows Chopra sitting on the badminton court, soaking her sweat with a towel post a training session. Sharing her exhaustion she captioned the post as, “Me. The badminton national champion herself left a few comments to give Parineeti a morale boost. Giving her a thumbs up, Saina commented on the post, “Looking superb.” Parineeti replied to the comment asked how Saina does it every day herself. She wrote, “@nehwalsaina Why are you such a good player!! Band baj gayee.” Saina later wrote another encouraging comment, she wrote, “We all are waiting to c u as the best athlete on screen and I m sure ur in the right direction,” adding a kiss emoji at the end.


Saina Nehwal biopic previously starred Stree actress Shraddha Kapoor. The makers had also started shooting for the film, when she fell sick. Unable to continue on due to other work commitments, Shraddha decided to drop the project. Soon it was announced Parineeti will be taking the lead and almost immediately she started training for the film.

Parineeti recently wrapped up shooting for a Hindi remake of, The Girl On the Train. The film is based on the novel by the same name and will reprise the role of Emily Blunt from the Hollywood release.
