Remo D'Souza's last directorial Race 3, starring Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez among others, was panned by the critics, despite the fact that it did well at the box office. The movie which managed to rake in about Rs 180 crore at the domestic box office, invited a lot of trolls and negative reactions on social media as well. Now, in a recent interview, director Remo has expressed that the decision of the makers to not show Salman Khan in a grey role, may have worked against them, in the third film of the Race franchise.

While speaking with PTI, Remo shared, "When Shiraz Ahmed wrote the script it had the grey role. 'Race' franchise is about grey characters but we can't show Salman in grey character and other things were also happening. Because of all that.. It just went little..."

He further said, "Entertainment-wise we had great action, songs, 3D, etc. People loved the action but then suddenly trolls started. The action was done by people who are masters in action… Story-wise I agree there were glitches. But I have seen worst films becoming a hit. There were few changes that happened during the shoot."

On being asked about there being any changes in the script of Race 3 during the shoot, Remo said, "There were few changes that happened during the shoot. The script got modified after Salman came on board."

Commenting on the naysayers who call the film a 'disaster', Remo told the agency, ""If it was a disaster then it wouldn't have done Rs 180 crore business and Rs 300 crore worldwide. I am still trying to come to terms to it and concentrating on my next film."

Remo will be collaborating with Salman Khan for Dancing Dad, which was supposed to be the first film of the director-actor duo together, then Race 3 happened and Dancing Dad got pushed ahead.
